Farm fields, silos and a family holiday session

I always look forward to my drive home to Canada (aside from the length in drive time) I remember how much I miss the type of vegetation I'm use to growing up; flat, farm lands, dirt roads, farm houses far apart, barns, silos, cows.... For me it brings me to my childhood memories...how much fun those times were and peaceful it was for a child growing in a small town.  I knew I always wanted to live in big cities, both city and town feel like home to me.

During my short stay, I had the honor to photograph Leann's family and her extended family including her mom, sister, brothers, niece and nephew.  This was my first large family session and I was up for the challenge.  We had planned on an outdoor session, of course we can never control the weather, it rained the whole entire Sunday...poo-eeee!

Here are some of my favorites from our session!  Enjoy and thank you Leann!

Ahhhh farm fields...

Meet Leann, her hubby and sweet girls.

Little Miss A's made my heart melt...she's too cute!

Her niece and nephew...her mothers house were we did our photo shoot was GIGANTIC indoor and outdoor!

The whole family

Near the end the kids needed some fuel, so we decided to head to the kitchen for some family time around the table.  My favorite candid moments!

Mother and daughter being silly...

Grandma and the youngest grandchild, Miss A.

We were able to get some photographs outdoor on their porch...oh how I wish it didn't rain all day...

My beautiful sisters and mom

Boy oh boy I decided last minute I would drive back home, spent exactly 48 hours, pick up my little sister for her birthday and bring her back to Boston for the holidays.  Let's just say my bottom and back were not happy near the 8th hour of my 10 hour drive.  I don't think I'll do that commute until this summer when we make it a two week road trip, this way my husband and I can help split the drive.

We had a very special Christmas, my cousin from London, UK, visited Boston for the first time.  My family joined in on the festivities Christmas Eve.  In my previous posting, I mentioned we had a seafood dinner, indeed we did, it was yummy!

Here are some of my favorites from of my sisters during my very short visit.  I was also able to squeeze in a few photo session which included catching up with a childhood friend and a family with their extended families...stay tuned.

Meet Miss J.  Many people say we look and sound alike.

Our baby sister, I say this because she is 18 years younger than me.

In our family, we like to have fun and be silly...

Lastly, I thought I would throw this collage in...my mother and us (her three daughters)

Holiday Beauties in the Studio

Meet Big Sister C and her baby brother who is 7 months.  I met their mom who happens to be friends with 6 weeks old Baby H's mom who's session can be view here.  I can't get enough of these siblings cuteness.  Their mother has the best taste in children's clothes, it has left an imprint.

After our session, I have never seen Donovan play so passionately, and now I know my son has a little crush.  Every time I ask my son "Where's C", he blushes with this innocent smile...OMG too cute.  I even have it on video LOL.

Thank you so much for doing your photo session with me!

Christmas PJs, red coats & lollipops

I was so happy when M & A's mother contacted me and wanted to do pictures of her girls in their Christmas PJs...oh what fun it was.  Both mom and dad worked so hard making them giggle for their photographs and they do not disappoint!  And I must say parents do a lot of work behind the scenes, trying to get their children(s) to smiles/laugh soooo thank you for your hard work, without them I'm sure rattles and my silly joke "is there are bird on my head" can work only so much!

We finished our session outdoors at Beaver Brook Reservation in Belmont.  This past fall, we had our family photos taken here too and it's just a lovely park with creeks running through.  It is also a popular park for dogs so I don't blame their dad was super cautious about stepping in dog doo-doo but I had so much fun with your entire family!  Thank you, thank you!

Here are some of my favorites from our session!

How adorable are these two sisters?

Of course one of many favorites....

Don't you love their matching red coats?

Love love love!!!

O Family

Now that the holidays are over, it's time for me to catch up on the blog!  December was a very busy month for photo sessions, especially for holiday cards.

Now on this beautiful family!  We started off in their beautiful home that was festively decorated  and ended our session at McLennan Park.  Weather was overcast, bit wet and we managed to have a super fun photo session! Thank you for asking me to take your family photos :)

I love this photo of the girls including mom looking at dad...

M and E like to have fun too!

Giggles are good for the {heart}

I have been seeing these collage ideas and of course I was dying to do one...turned out better than anticipated!

Ready for the holidays

I  {LOVE} this time of the year, Christmas is so enchanting especially now that I have my own little family.  In my family since I was a young teenager we decided not to give gifts instead we  enjoyed each others company, ate until our bellies exploded until 3am and of course with a few good glasses of wine and drinks. This worked very well even up to today.  Although I think now that we have our young toddler, the gift giving will starts again...just a few.  We have also embraced giving back through donations to local organizations.

This year we will have a busy house with family from UK and my family including my aunt from Canada.  My husband and I are really looking forward to having a full house.  And this year instead of turkey and ham, we will do a seafood dinner, which I am {SUPER} excited about!!  And yes we will eat until our bellies explodes.

I cannot believe Christmas is a week away.  Our house is all dolled up...this is why I love this time of the year.  I am truly grateful for such an amazing year, blessed with a wonderful, hardworking hubby, a beautiful healthy boy who brings so much joy to our little family, a home that keeps us warm and comfortable.

I also feel blessed to have venture on my passion.  A huge thank you to all the wonderful families and couples I have meet this year.  I look forward to another great year. So thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas!

Baby H :: 6 weeks

Baby H and his mom came into the studio a few weeks ago.  He was wide awake and so alert during the first 45 minutes.  Baby H showed off his kicks and punches, eventually tiring himself out.  I say this excitedly with giggles...I also got to rock him sound asleep, to sneak in those "deep sleep" poses and it was a success (giving mom a break too!)!  I really miss my son when he was this age, how much smaller and how much they slept but, each stage of a child's life is always new/different/fun.

I love this quote "A baby will make love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, bankroll smaller, home happier, clothes shabbier, the past forgotten, and the future worth living for.”

Thank you Baby H and mom for this session!
